I realised the other day that I rarely do favourite-type-posts and I thought there is nothing wrong with a little change. Today I am presenting My Favourite Things Right Now. There is no specific theme to this, in fact, all objects are practically in no way connected what so ever. But sometimes that is the best way. Here is just a 100% honest post of a few things I am really really loving right now. (Links to all the items will be included so you can all have a little look at everything on the list if you are curious!!)
First off we have to talk about this yellow woollen throw Billy and I picked up a few weeks back in one of the many cute boutiques in Brighton’s North Laines. Winter is a very very cosy but cold time of the year and we decided we needed to bring some bright colours into our space, whilst being able to use those things in our everyday. For me, it feels pointless to have great stand out pieces if they don’t actually DO anything or enhance your life in any way. We have had our eye on this throw for a while and finally bit the bullet and went for it. It had to be top of this list because we love it THAT much!!! It is great to have stand out pieces that are actually useful in a room and this throw is exactly that!!
Next up we have Dr. Jackson’s face and body products. The lovely people at Dr. Jacksons sent me over a few products to help keep my face moisturised throughout the winter. The cold, dry weather is awful for our skin and it is important we take care of it and keep it hydrated. I have completely fallen in love with the night cream and everyday oil and put them on every evening, alternating between the two, before I go to sleep. One thing that is great about these products is the fact that they don’t get everywhere. Often with these oils and creams, they tend to feel sticky and don’t sink in very quickly meaning they rub off onto bedding and clothing really easily. But with the Dr. Jacksons ones, they sink in very quickly and you only need two drops of the oil a night meaning it will last for ages and ages.
I really recommend heading over to their Website and having a look at all their products! Their brand is very minimalist which is exactly my kind of thing. They care a lot about what they do and that comes through in all areas of the brand. I have been really trying to get better with ethical skincare and with dr.jacksons being animal testing free, we can all feel good about using their stuff! One thing that has also really stood out about the brand is that it is gender-free. Too often we have brands who target women or men only and that just feels odd. At the end of the day, the stuff that is inside the bottles will be the same for all genders so why discriminate? Just another reason to support a company like Dr Jacksons.
Oh and it’s not weird that I ask everyone to smell me now is it?? It is just that their body wash smells incredible….
I don’t think I could ever make a favourites post and not include some kind of chocolate. Whenever I bake, it is pretty much always with chocolate and whenever I snack, I am almost always searching for chocolate. This month I am really loving the Rococo chocolate bars. Sometimes you need a little break away from the supermarket traditions and these are mouthwatering alternatives. Can I just say that I need more of the Honeycomb crunch bar in my life. It is pure pure heaven.
Onto a more literature themed favourite: We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche. The reason I am including this little pocket-sized book is because of its importance in the wider context. The book, which is an adaptation of her TEDx talk, gives a personal and touching view of modern day feminism. Too often feminism is described in abstract articulations but it is so refreshing to read something with a human voice as the true narrator. It is a short read so no one has any excuses not to pick up a copy and give it a read.
So there are a few things that I have been loving this month! Do click through to all the websites and maybe some of these things would make a lovely Christmas present?? Maybe even a present for yourself??! Go on…. treat yourself! I look forward to bringing these favourites posts back again and sharing little things that I have been loving 🙂
