I have an undeniable love for indoor plants and I believe that only by filling a house with greenery is it truly a home. Not only do they look incredible and cast some of the most amazing shadows in the sunlight, but they bring life to a room, even if they are not real! I have grown up in a home filled with all sorts of plants, some of them which are taller and older than I am and when I went to university, I started off buying a few little fake plants that I knew couldn’t die whilst I was out having a great freshers… It also meant that I could go home without having to worry about how to transport my beloved plants on a crowded Southern rail train. But slowly over the past year I have expanded my range of greenery and picked up some easy care plants to liven up my space.
The lovely guys at Resident Store have sent me over a DIY plant hanger and air plant to enable me to create this post and I would like to extend the utmost gratitude to them because I absolutely love this new addition to my room. The planter is really easy and fun to put together yourself (although you may need a second pair of hands just to help with holding the wire) and took me about 5-10 minutes. Once put together it is really sturdy and there is plenty of wire spare if you want to hang it from high up.
The thing I love most about this is the ease at which one can take good care of the air plant. If not watered enough the ends will tend to brown slightly, but will return to normal once given the right care. They basically tell you if you aren’t looking after it right, without dying on you from one day to the next. And all they require is a spray every few days or a water bath to restore any dryness. Of course you should never let it get to the point of brown tips, but the warning signs are there just incase.
It is the perfect plant if you don’t have the greatest green thumb, but still want a plant to help bring life and style to your indoor space. Resident Store also have many more products to help you with your green living, as well as many other homeware items to bring that extra something into your home. I will leave all of Resident’s links at the bottom of this post for you to check out for yourselves.
For me having plants is a must, and I am constantly on the look out for cool new ideas of how to present and integrate them into my room. Pinterest is especially good for this and I sometimes find myself getting lost for hours on the app. The hanger that I received from Resident Store is exactly what I was looking for in terms of size and design and it fits incredibly well over my desk area. The fact that the hanger was so simple to put together and of such high quality makes the overall experience so much better than just simply buying a finished product and putting it in it’s place. This way you actually get to create something, and yes I know I am simply following instructions, but it made me fall in love with it a little bit more. So if you are ever looking for a simple way to bring something new into your home, I highly recommend air plant hangers. Not only can you get a whole range of different air plants, but by hanging them up, you can utilise small spaces incredibly well. It is a definite 10/10 from me.
