My Christmas Choice

With Christmas drawing ever closer, I am starting to try out different drinks and cocktails to find the perfect match for the festive period. And this year I didn’t need to look any further than Fentimans.

I have always been a huge fan of the range of mixers that Fentimans make and this year is no different. To celebrate their Pink Rhubarb Tonic Water I have decided to create my perfect Christmas choice and I thought it was only fair to share it with you all.

Fentimans were super kind and sent me a box of their Pink Rhubarb to try out and I immediately fell in love and can’t wait to bring it out for all my friends and family over Christmas and New Years. The Pink Rhubarb Tonic Water is infused with Rhubarb (you guessed it…) and Quinine to create a really refreshing drink that also feels pretty premium, making it great for the upcoming festive celebrations!!

After trying out some different recipes I found that actually the Pink Rhubarb is served best quite simply because of its own incredible taste. You don’t want anything to overpower the tonic because then what is the point! By keeping it simple it means that you can serve it at any opportunity, from a massive family Christmas dinner to a simple night in on New Year’s Eve.

For my personal taste I decided to mix the tonic water with gin purely because that tends to be my go-to spirit but it also works really well with vodka so whatever you prefer!

So my simple and easy Christmas cocktail of choice is as follows:

  • 50ml of gin (maybe don’t go for a pink gin or overly flavoured gin as you want the tonic flavour to stand out)
  • 250-300ml Fentiman’s Pink Rhubarb Tonic Water
  • Add some mint as a garnish
  • A pinch of granulated sugar to sugar rim the glass
  • Optionally you can add a mixture of berries on the top if you want to go the extra mile!

A little hint if you are having a Christmas party is to get your glasses sugar rimmed before all of your guests arrive. Not only will it save time and hassle when you are having to serve the drinks but it will make a great first impression!

“So how can I get my hands on Pink Rhubarb tonic water?” I hear you ask… well… I first discovered Fentimans drinks several years ago but at the time it was a little bit difficult to get my hands on their drinks as only certain stockists had their range but since then everything has changed!!

Everyone can grab a bottle (or more) of their favourite Fentimans drink at so many major retailers and independent shops across the country! My local Sainsburys does a whole range of their drinks so creating a drink a little different from the rest is easier than ever!

Make sure you head over to Fentimans website here or check out their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages too.
