My Christmas Cocktails

Christmas is definitely one of my favourite times of year and I like to make everything as festive as I can. This year I have created some of my own Christmas cocktails and mocktails and these are my three favourites. The festive period is a great time to sit with friends and family and reminisce about the great and perhaps not so great moments of the past year. There is nothing I love more than gathering people around a table with some homemade cocktails as a toast. But of course it isn’t about the alcohol, it’s about sharing moments and all of these recipes can be alcohol-free if you prefer them to be. I have to thank Fentimans for sending me a lovely range of some of their mixer drinks which has allowed me to experiment a little further with flavour and festivities in my cocktails. Their drinks are not only classics but they are sure to be a huge hit with all your friends and family this Christmas.

Vodka Ginger Beer Cocktail

Fentimans have this lovely Ginger Beer and Muddled Lime drink that makes the perfect easy festive cocktail! If you bring this one out over Christmas I can assure it will get your loved ones feeling the festive cheer, even if you don’t mix in the alcohol!!

What you will need:

Fentimans Ginger Beer and Muddle Lime drink

25ml Vodka per serving

1/2 tspΒ Honey for every serving

A sprinkle of sugar to either put in the drink or to rim the glass.

A little thyme to garnish

You can also use Fentiman’s classic Ginger Beer and add your own lime juice to get the tangy flavour

The way I rim the glass with sugar is really easy and simple. Just pour out some sugar onto a plate and slightly wet the rim of the glass before turning it over onto the sugar and there you have it.

(Make sure you do this before pouring in your cocktail, though that is fairly obvious)

Cranberry Gin and Tonic

For all of you that know me, you will know I could never make a cocktail compilation without including a gin and tonic. But around Christmas, my G&Ts have to be festive and there quite a few simple ways that I like to achieve this. For today’s post, I have chosen to include a cranberry addition to my gin and tonic to give a little festive feeling.

What you will need:

  • Fentimans Premium Indian Tonic Water
  • 25ml or 50ml Gin for each serving
  • 100ml of cranberry juice for each serving
  • You can also use Fentimans Naturally Light Tonic Water that has 30% less sugar

Christmas Mocktail

Christmas is, however, not all about the alcohol itself. Not only can many people not drink it, but lots of people just prefer not to so, I felt it was important to include a mocktail so that no one would feel excluded. This is one of my favourite mocktails and I think I might have to make this one up for my family on Christmas Eve so that we can all wake up feeling fresh on one the most important mornings…

What you will need:

  • 200ml Fentimans Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water
  • 100ml Cranberry Juice
  • 100ml Apple Juice
  • Ice cubes
  • A handful of mixed berries. I have gone for raspberries and blueberries.
  • Thyme or perhaps some orange peel to garnish

So there are my 3 Christmas Cocktails for this year. I want to say a huge thank you to Fentimas for sponsoring this post and letting me try an array of their fabulous drinks. Whatever tastes and cocktails you are after this Christmas, Fentimans will have something for everyone to enjoy. The best bit about the whole thing? The cocktails can be made alcoholic or not, but whatever you choose, Fentimans will give them the festive feeling.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and please let me know what your festive cocktails of choice are this year!!!
