My Home Office Saviours

25/09/2017

I spend a lot of time sat at my desk. A LOT of time. From university essays, to writing for my blog, to replying to emails and watching cat videos on Facebook, sizeable chunks of my time are sat in front of my laptop screen. In order to make my time productive I have been looking for ways to make my home office a comfortable and productive place to work. I started off by introducing plants to my desk in order to bring some life into this sometimes stressful space. I am a firm believer that you can never have enough plants and my apartment shows just that… oops. I then looked for cool quirky desk accessories to keep my mind creative. I am the sort of person that always has to look at new notepads and gets way too excited over buying new pens. I find this is a very simple way to make you want to roll out of bed and into your desk chair in the morning. I am head over heels in love with my floating wall pencil holder and my @ sign makes me remember what a cool internet person I am supposed to be. Supposed to be, being the key part of that sentence. But now that I had the desk organisation part completed, I wanted to solve the other part of the equation that helps with productivity; technology. I recently got my first pair of wireless bluetooth headphones and I am in love.

When I am working I often have earphones in to listen to music or to get more in the zone, switching off from noises around me in order to focus fully at the task at hand. But for so long I have put up with uncomfortable earphones that fall out and throw your laptop on the floor when you get up, forgetting you are connected by 1 metre of wire. I felt like I was living in 2013 and times have changed since then and I need to change with them. This is where Sudio stepped in and my home office situation has since improved so so much. I am using their Regent wireless headphones and not only are they the most comfortable pair ever, but the sound is incredible and they react literally instantly through the Bluetooth. If you know me, you’ll know that I love simple design and these headphones could not be more simple and elegant. Let’s just say if I were to design a pair, they would look exactly like this. It is so nice to not have to deal with entangled wires and having to take them off if you want to go across the room. Music is the one thing that helps me write and motivates me to create things. It’s like without a good song, I struggle to be as productive as I would like to be. I would definitely recommend Sudio headphones to anyone who is looking for a good pair to help them be more productive.

But I think although they have literally become my home office saviour, the main change for me is to be able to use them so easily on the move, both for taking my work with me, but also for relaxation too. This will make studying in the library so so much easier and because they are very light and compact, I feel I can take my work with me wherever I go. But what we all have to remember is that sometimes it is good to have dedicated work places and times so here is to leaving the desk at home, and I will definitely be using these for music on the go!!

Sudio make a whole range of wireless headphones and earphones so definitely head over to their website to check out their full range. I also have a special discount code to get 15% off so make sure you use “joannascorner15” at checkout!!

I actually really want some wireless headphones for sixth form. All these wires just keep getting tangled in my bag!
